This isn’t quite a rambling. It is something I want my family to remember forever. To hold dearly to their hearts and minds.
Its from Winnie the Pooh. An A.A. Mine quote. But it is so very true.
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”
― A.A. Milne
Next, a ‘rambling’ worth thinking about….
If there is really such thing as an eternity (which I believe there is), then the common notion of living our present lives to the fullest really (as life is unpredictable) doesn’t mean that much anymore. Certainly not as important as preparing ourselves for the next step – which if it turns out to be eternity will make our present lives and all its material achievements really worthless. So just think about it, Singaporeans are very kiasu…..so if eternity really exists, we should prepare very well for it, shouldn’t we? Eternity sounds like a pretty long time making our 80 years on earth a pretty short time. Living our present lives to the fullest so to speak may not be the best way of preparing for an eternity.
Most memorable & special trip with Jerry….
Drove through the old Cambridge places (& around) where Jerry grew up from 2001-3. Spent 2 nights with a very hospitable Ramez Kirilos. Then we made our way with the rented Mini to the Liverpool vs Southampton afternoon match. We did stop by Old Trafford for several hours on route and did the Museum tour (Stadium tour was unfortunately sold out).
Pity it was a sterile 0-0 Liverpool vs Southampton match (with Yih Woei & Rabind) and met Chiao Lin & Miah Hiang in London – was still good fun. More pictures of this trip can be found in the Goody Friends page!
